Dance

The ships are approaching and our warriors dance. Our warriors dance by the forest from which they emerge. We who are not warriors knew someday ships would come from the sea. Our warriors dance each day by the forest from which they emerge. We who are not warriors cannot speak to the warriors. We may offer the warriors food and we may offer the warriors drink but we may not speak to the warriors. One must be a warrior to speak to a warrior. When our warriors emerge from the forest they scorn the sea. The forest is the world to our warriors and the world is all our warriors will see. Our warriors laugh at the waves that fall onto the shore and plead for their attention. We who are not warriors first saw the ships at dawn. If only our warriors would turn toward the sea. We who are not warriors watch the ships approach. On the edge of the forest our warriors dance. The ships draw near and we who are not warriors can see the carved heads of the beasts that guide the ships. Our warriors dance on the edge of the forest from which they emerge. The ships are full of warriors born from the sea. The ships are near and our warriors dance.

  1. like the warriors & non-warriors, forest & ocean. no. the warriors would not go near the ocean so then the ship may be peaceful in its mission though the beast masthead. chella
